Bushwhacked! and Other Short Plays is an absurdist, poignant, and biting comedy recommended for mature audiences. A gunshot sound effect occurs off-stage and a prop rifle briefly appears onstage. In art, comedy is often reflective of common culture. As a result, some themes in this production touch upon subjects that may be disturbing to some viewers. These themes include, but are not limited to, drug/alcohol abuse, references to domestic violence, mental illness and self-harm. Welcome to the unique world of legendary local comedic playwright, Rosemary Foley.
As we recognize Women’s History Month, we are delighted to honor Rosemary as a trailblazing playwright who has always been ahead of her time. Bushwhacked! and Other Short Plays features six absurd, satirical and darkly-funny short plays, along with three intimate monologues about Rosemary's life.
Rosemary is a decades-long member of Connecticut's Theatre Artists Workshop, where she workshopped many of the plays in this production. Greenwich Theatre Company is delighted to once again partner with Theatre Artists Workshop to host this benefit production. Highlighting Rosemary’s talent has always been a collective dream of both organizations. With the help of Rosemary's devoted family and friends, we are thrilled that we could finally make this happen.
